Jasminka Demin

Jasminka Demin lives in Toronto, and although her presence in the cultural life of the Balkans has not been extensive, it has left a mark in several fields.
Her poem “S. Grad”, from her first poetry collection Karmine (Svjetlost, 1983), was included in the anthology Lost Stars: A Centenary Selection of Bosnian-Herzegovinian Women Poets, 1908–2008.
In 2006, the literary, arts, and culture journal Trag published the first act of her play Reality & Co Limited, Three Sisters by Chekhov, Revisited.
In 2013, the portal Građevinarstvo.rs published a series of her texts on eco-manipulation in the fields of sustainability and green building. The same year, the Sarajevo magazine Odjek published her essay “Eco-Manipulation – The Final Spin,” which is available through the Central and Eastern European Online Library.
After many years, she returned to poetry and published the long poems “Grad” (City) and “Zavičaj – san i košmar” (Homeland – Dream and Nightmare) on the ASoglas portal. These works constitute a key part of the present collection.
