POGUBLJENJE ČARLSA I (INĐIJA PRO POET 2019)

Aleksandar Mijalković

Tog januarskog jutra 1649. godine,

kažu letopisci, bilo je hladno.

Zato je, opet priča se prenosi,

poslednji kralj obukao

dve teške košulje,

jer kraljevsko dostojanstvo nalaže

da se na gubilištu, pred narodom,

ne drhti.

Tačno vek i po kasnije

bilojejul,

(madajekalendarbioizmenjen)

bezpotrebezabilokakvomkošuljom,

ali kraljevsko dostojanstvo obavezuje

da se pred narod ne izlazi bos

i bez teških perika.

A tačno dva veka kasnije,

umesto glava je pao zid,

a ne glave pod zidovima

Vindzora, ili Bastilje,

svejedno je.

Od tada redovno viđam

Čarlsovu obezglavljenu košulju,

toalete Antoanete

opervažene giljotinom

i berlinske trabante sa zastavama.

Prošlo je tačno još trideset godina.

I mada deluje hladno kao u Londonu

i sparno, sa usirenom pariskom krvlju

i još se magla se usana berlinskog zida sleže,

ja još uvek ne mogu

da završim poglavlje,

da upišem ocenu

i sklopim korice knjige,

jeriznjevireglave,

jezici i hiljade grla,

repovi iz 17. veka

u francuskom sosu

služenom u

ekspres restoranu

na Čekpoint Čarliju.

The
Execution of Charles I, Fondly called Charlie

That
January morning in 1649,

The
chroniclers say, was cold.

That’s
why, again the story goes,

The
last king has put on

Two
heavy shirts,

Because
the royal dignity requires

That
one must not shiver

In
front of the people, at the execution ground.

Exactly
one and a half century later,

It
was July,

(Though
the calendar was already changed)

There
was no need for shirts of any kind,

But
the royal dignity obligates

Not
to be barefoot

And
without heavy wigs

In
front of the people.

And
exactly two centuries later,

A
wall fell, not heads,

No
heads fell under the walls of

Windsor, or Bastille,

Or
wherever.

Since
then I am regularly seeing

Charles' beheaded shirt,

Les toilettes de Antoinette

Guillotine
hemmed

And
the Berlin Trabants with
ags in their windows.

Exactly
thirty more years have passed.

And
although the coldness reminds me of London

And
the air is stifling, with clotted Parisian blood,

And
the fog is still coming off the lips of the Berlin Wall,

I
still struggle to finish a chapter,

Mark
my students

And
close the covers of the book,

Because
the heads still peek out from it,

Tongues
and necks by thousands,

The
1600s ponytails

In
French sauce

Served
in a

Fast
food restaurant

At
the Checkpoint Charlie.
